INFINITI has been a pioneer in automotive safety, as INFINITI safety features have set the standard for driver assistance and peace of mind for over 20 years since 2001.
An Inspiring Success Story
INFINITI launched its first model in 1989 and quickly became a beloved luxury performance brand. In 2001, the brand introduced the Intelligent Cruise Control program, a groundbreaking innovation at the time. That same year, INFINITI also debuted its first RearView Monitor, followed by the INFINITI Voice Recognition program in 2002.
From there, INFINITI continued to lead in safety technology. The company introduced its first Lane Departure Warning system in 2004, and by 2007, the Around View Monitor and the Lane Departure Prevention System were implemented. Further advancements included Blind Spot Intervention in 2010, Intelligent Backup in 2012, and Direct Adaptive Steering in 2014.
The INFINITI Safety Programs of This Year
Adaptive Front Lighting
These headlights automatically adjust based on your steering inputs, providing better visibility when making turns or maneuvering curved roads.
Around View Monitor
This safety system, continually updated since its 2007 debut, now uses four cameras to create a 360-degree viewing experience that includes a bird’s-eye view of your INFINITI through your onboard infotainment screen.
The cameras automatically engage when you put your vehicle in reverse, and high-tech front- and rear-bumper sonar sensors provide visual and audible warnings if they detect potential collision objects. The supplemental Moving Object Detection program alerts you to any movement around your INFINITI, offering 360-degree awareness.
Backup Collision Intervention
Backup Collision Intervention monitors the space behind your INFINITI, which is especially useful when reversing onto busy streets. When it detects objects crossing behind your vehicle, the system not only alerts you of the danger with enough time to react but also autonomously engages the brakes.
Blind Spot Warning
During lane changes, if another vehicle is detected in your corresponding blind spot, Blind Spot Warning audibly alerts you, applies the brakes, and can even steer you back into your original lane if necessary.
High Beam Assist
This feature automatically adjusts the headlights, pointing them downward when the system detects low light.
Lane Departure Warning & Prevention
If you drift out of your lane without signaling, this system gently guides you back into the center of your intended lane.
Predictive Forward Collision Warning
This advanced warning system monitors the road ahead, not only keeping an eye on the car directly in front of you but also on the vehicle ahead of it to predict potential collisions. The system provides audio and visual alerts when it detects sudden changes in distance and speed in the road ahead, helping you defensively drive.
